Greedy MTA’s fare hikes will be effective January 1, 2011.
 

Here’s a summary of new fares:
 


Unlimited 30-day Pass - $104



Unlimited 7 day Pass - $29



Unlimited 7 Day Express Bus pass - $50



Single Rides - $2.50





New discount structure for single rides: For every $10 purchase, there’s a 7% discount (old system: $8; 15% discount).





Also note, that there’s a $1 surcharge on all new MetroCards purchased from a booth or a MetrodCard Vending Machine (in order to cut back on waste and MetroCard costs----Thanks, hippies). Evidently, unlimited cards will be refillable now.
